rAMIRO oCASIO - cO-fOUNDER AND pRESIDENT
Ramiro Ocasio was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in El Progreso, Honduras. He currently resides in New York City and works in the records department at the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. The people of Honduras hold a very special place in Ramiro’s heart and he returns every year to help poor communities as much as he is able to.
Ramiro is the recipient of the Junior Chambers International, JCI Special Recognition Award for his contribution to the development of projects in Honduras in 2013. He is a corporate member of JCI, an organization in Honduras of young volunteers who are leaders in community service in their villages. Ramiro is the recipient of the city council citation in recognition of his heroism and bravery from New York City Council Member Peter F. Vallone Jr. for saving a man’s’ life by jumping down onto the tracks to rescue him seconds before an incoming train arrived into the station.
FEIH is the fruits of Ramiro’s life work. He is excited about the growth of the foundation and looks forward to more opportunities to be of service to others.
Jon Henes - Co-Founder
Jon Henes has led some of the most complex restructurings in the United States and abroad in a variety of industries, including media, chemicals, energy, manufacturing, real estate, retail and telecommunications. Jon's experience is deep and diverse as he has represented debtors (including portfolio, privately-held and public companies), creditors' committees and distressed investors (including hedge funds, private equity funds and companies) in acquisitions, restructurings and bankruptcy cases; advised boards of directors and senior managers of financially troubled companies regarding fiduciary duties and restructuring strategies; provided advice in connection with legacy, environmental, mass tort, retiree and pension liabilities of financially troubled companies; and advised investors in connection with the purchase of distressed assets and securities. Jon has lectured at Harvard Business School, New York University, Wharton Business School, Wake Forest Law School and Cardozo Law School regarding distressed investing, hedge funds involvement in Chapter 11 and the credit markets, and has published articles on, among other things, distressed debt trading and corporate decision making. Jon is also an adjunct professor at Cardozo Law School where he teaches a course on distressed investing and corporate restructurings and was appointed as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the Heyman Center of Corporate Governance, the mission of which is to raise public and academic awareness of pressing corporate and securities law issues and to produce and disseminate research on a broad range of corporate and securities law topics.
After 10 years marketing for Major League Baseball and the NHL, Felicia Greenfield switched careers to work as an actor, mom, and philanthropist.
She currently sits on the board of Pillows for Paws and works with ECPAT-USA, the domestic branch of global anti-human-trafficking NGO. Greenfield also developed and runs Grandpa Dave’s Creature Comforts with her two daughters. GDCC provides comfort items for NYC rescue and shelter animals via in-kind donations, and also raises money for the NYC ACC via the RescueMen initiative.
John Contant is a Partner at Shufro, Rose & Co., LLC (SRC), a New York based asset management firm founded in 1938. At SRC, John is responsible for security analysis, investment selection and portfolio management for his clients. John graduated from Lehigh University with a B.S in Finance. In addition to his involvement with FEIH, John supports many charitable organizations with a focus on education, including: The South Bronx Educational Foundation, Urban Tech,Virtual Enterprises, and YRF (Youth Renewal Fund).
Canaan Himmelbaum currently serves as the Vice President of Business Development for Advanced Discovery. In his role, Mr. Himmelbaum oversees Business Development and Consulting for a global eDiscovery Corporation. Mr Himmelbaum also leverages his years of experience working in-house as Litigation and eDiscovery Counsel at Glanbia, PLC where he worked on large scale eDiscovery litigation and M&A matters. He advises and consults with clients that are part of Advanced Discovery’s Food/Beverage, Oil/Gas/Energy and Antitrust Groups. He consults on planning and budgeting, internal investigations and information governance. Additionally, Mr. Himmelbaum has a long history of philanthropic fundraising.

The son of an educator, Robert A. Rizzo has always deeply valued education and believes it is the single most important factor in securing individual success and life-long fulfillment. After being born and raised in Connecticut, Rob matriculated at Georgetown University in Washington, DC where he studied Political Science and Art History. Rob graduated Cum Laude from Georgetown University and was a member of Phi Alpha Theta, National Honor Society in History. Rob also attended Cornell Law School in Ithaca New York, where he was a member of the Journal of Law and Public Policy.
Rob believes that every child should be entitled to an education and has been involved for years with the Inner-City Scholarship Fund, an organization whose goal is to preserve Catholic school education as viable choice for all children, and the various schools that ICSF supports.
Rob, a mergers and acquisitions attorney at an international law firm, focused on representing private equity sponsor clients in a variety of transactions, currently resides in TriBeCa with his family and two dogs.
Christopher Torrente is a corporate partner in the New York Office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Chris’ practice is primarily focused on representing private equity funds, private companies and public companies in a wide variety of complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and in-court and out-of court restructurings. Chris has experience in a wide variety of industries, including business services, chemicals, retail, customer products, industrial, manufacturing, logistics/ transportation services, oil and gas services.
Chris also serves on various firm-wide committees including the Finance Committee, the Pro Bono
Management Committee and the Associate Review Committee, as well as the NY Associate Review

Shai Waisman, the Chief Executive Officer of Prime Clerk, is a widely recognized expert on restructuring and bankruptcy. Before joining Prime Clerk, Shai was a partner in the Business Finance & Restructuring department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he led some of the largest and most complicated restructurings in history, including Lehman Brothers, American Airlines, Global Crossing, Loral Space & Communications and Steve & Barry’s. At Weil, Shai held leadership roles on the Firm Committee, Investment Committee, Hiring Committee, Audit Letter Committee and Technology Committee.
Shai has written extensively on the subject of the development of American bankruptcy law, the acquisition and sale of assets of distressed companies, and current issues in the reorganization practice. He was co-editor and an author of The Law and Practice of Restructuring in the UK and US (Oxford University Press, 2011).
Among his educational and charitable activities, Shai currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Overseers of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and the New York Advisory Board of Facing History & Ourselves and is also a member of the Executive Committees of both the Lawyers Division and the Bankruptcy & Reorganization Group of UJA-Federation New York.
Shai graduated from The American University and holds a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
Jeanne (“Jeannie”) Heffernan is an experienced trial lawyer focusing on intellectual property litigation in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Jeannie has successfully tried more than a dozen patent and trademark infringement cases around the country in a wide range of industries, from medical devices to telecommunications to haute couture. Jeannie also has a vibrant pro bono practice and is on the Firmwide Pro Bono Committee. In addition to her work for Kids in Need of Defense, Sanctuary for Families, and several other organizations, Jeannie is the supervising partner for the Anti-Sex Trafficking Pilot Program in Queens. Jeannie also traveled to Ghana with Lawyers without Borders, to train judges in their role overseeing a newly established family law problem-solving court. Prior to her career as a lawyer, Jeannie was a volunteer teacher at Academy of St. Benedict the African in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago and a volunteer counselor at the Greenhill YMCA outside of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Jeannie received a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, an A.M. from the University of Chicago Divinity School, and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
Anabella bueso davis
Anabella Bueso Davis was born and raised in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. At an early age Anabella's father impressed upon her the value of an education. Anabella attended the University of Richmond where she received a degree in Business Administration with a double concentration in Finance and Economics.
Following graduation she worked as a financial consultant for companies in bankruptcy and litigation. Later on she decided to follow her calling to serve and pursue a career in education. She received a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from NYU's Steinhardt School of Education. Afterwards she worked as a teacher at the Dalton School.
Currently she is a full time mother of three bilingual kids and an active volunteer, including serving as the Chair of the Parents Board of Reformed Church Nursery School.
Anabella believes passionately that the key to opportunity is a quality education. FEIH's mission combines two of her greatest passions Education and Honduras.
Richard DeKaser is Executive Vice President and Head of the Corporate Economics Group, Wells Fargo & Company. DeKaser is responsible for preparing the corporation’s economic forecasts and oversees a team of economists responsible for designing and producing economic scenarios for financial planning and risk management activities, including credit, liquidity, interest rate, and securities valuation risk assessment. This group also provides advisory services to business units and corporate functions focused on planning and risk management activities.
A banking professional with 25 years of experience, DeKaser joined Wells Fargo in 2012. Previously, DeKaser served as Senior Vice President and Chief Economist for National City Corporation (now legacy PNC Financial) and Senior Financial Economist for Bank of Boston (now legacy Bank of America). DeKaser also worked in economic research and consulting for The Parthenon Group, Woodley Park Research and Data Resources, Inc. (IHS Global Insight).
DeKaser has held leadership positions in various associations, including the American Bankers’ Association (Chair of the Economic Advisory Committee), the New England Economic Project (President and Director), and the National Association of Business Economics (Director and Chair, Economic Outlook Committee and Financial Roundtable). Well-recognized within the economic/ business community, DeKaser has been quoted extensively in leading print and broadcast media outlets.
He received undergraduate and advanced degrees in economics from New York University, and resides in Washington, DC.
